How to shave rigid foam insulation?

What is the eaisiest way to shave Rigid FoamFoam Insulation. I intend to install it over a concrete floor and slope it towards a floor drain for a later application of parging.

a sharp knife would probably work or you could try using a hand plane.

I want to insulate my outlside foundation wall with rigid foam panels. How do I get a durable finish? ?

I thought of covering the insulation with cement board like that used under ceramic tile, but how could I give it a pleasing apearance above ground? Would outside paint or sand coat paint work on a cement panel?

There is some good stuff called “styro tuff trowel II”. It is very thick and durable. If you spray it on you will have to thin it out with a little water. It comes in gray, black, and tan but it can be tinted to what ever color you want. I had mine tinted to green and it looks really good.

It cost about $70.00 for 5 gallons and covers about 100 sq. ft.

Fiberglass or Foam – what's better for insulating a radiator pipe?

The radiator pipe in my apartment, despite being turn off, still gets hot, and it makes the apartment way too warm.

I'd like to cover it with some kind of insulation. I've seen 1/2" thick fiberglass wrap as well as 1/8" thick foam/foil wrap.

Is one more effective than the other? Is one safer than the other?

Thanks.

the foam is very good because it won't come apart like the fiberglass and make messes. Both are good insulators but in a living space you better use foam wrap insulation.
