I’m replacing my wood garage door (which is attached to my home) with a steel door (because it’s cheaper), but I don’t know which insulation to use. Home Depot offers the board insulation and another company is offering the injected Foam Insulation. Which one should I use.
You might get more specific guidance from the following web pages about insulation and insulation materials:

Hope this helps!

I'd like to know what I can use as an ignition barrier to cover spray foam insulation, or foamboard insulation such as Rmax, besides sheetrock. This would be for side attic applications, or basement rim joist applications where we need to cover the Foam Insulation with an ignition barrier but I want something easier and cheaper to install than sheetrock.
Sheetrock is only about $8-10 a sheet. That is pretty cheap unless you need 5/8 fire rated rock. That is more expensive but this is not an area to cut corners. I have been through a house fire. You could have serious regrets if you shortcut and lord forbid you have a disaster.
Fires can happen to anybody without warning. It is not worth cheaping out to save a couple bucks.
