what is the best type of foam insulation?

i need a Foam Insulation for the home as a substitute for the fiberglass ones? any suggestions? please explain as to why your answer is the best one

Rvalue is better foam fills in more space, but requires skilled installer.

Spray foam insulation for a code ceiling?

Wanted to find out if it is possible to use spray Foam Insulation on the ceiling, by drilling holes and adding some from a can.
Looking to reduce noise from apartment above.
Old apartment building with no sound insulation between the floors, it feels like they are jumping on your head.
Need to get some sleep for a change.
Any simple solutions are welcome.
Did speak with the management and the neighbors , no luck.
Any alternative solutions, and I am not talking about moving.

i would just cut sections out and throw some pink panther up there. it would be cheaper and the foam might crack your ceiling if you do it the w3ay your talking about it swells quite a bit and there’s no way for you to judge it the way your doing it. the same sections you cut out, just put back in when finished with insulation .plaster tape and a damp sponge for sanding down seams and paint. viola!
not a big mess from sanding with damp sponge. will not take to much longer and will most likely save you some big headaches
yes, it is possible to do it your way. do it a little at a time so you can keep up with how much it swells. it takes time stop swelling.
