Has anyone used 4X8 sheets of blue or pink foam insulation for padding under your pool ?

I have a 24′ pool that needs a new liner and I was wondering if anyone has used pink or blue 1.5" to 2" foam 4×8 sheets of insulation to line the bottom of a new pool liner install ? What’s the difference between blue and pink ? Do you think any of the chemicals in the insulation will prematurely brake down the liner ? I want to use the insulation insted of sand for added padding.

foam sheets are by density, thickness, and R value.
For padding any will work. and broken foamys can be duct taped together. 1/2" & 3/4" topped with Luan works great for a floor in both the shed & workshop. found foamys in the city cleanup. : )
Pool use? will find out this summer, plan to pad the fish pond.
note – broken foamys with out a top may shift and move and yes ants and beetles can be a rare nusiance.
sand is the #1 padding for any pool.

  1. Use sand. the ants will tunnel into the foam and leave voids.
