Can someone tell me how to drown out noisy pipes in the home?

Can someone tell me how to drown out the noise from knocking pipes. Everytime my neighbor or I turn on the hot water, the pipes began to knock and takes hours to stop. It’s right behind my bedroom wall. Moving out is not an option. I can’t afford to. The complex put in insulation foam but it didn’t help at all.

get a plumber to put in an expansion tank and water hammer arresters.

  2. Hi insulation may help–if you are renting ask the landlord to come in an drain the pipes if possible–some of the older radiators have that option but not the newer ones (anything 1970s plus).

Foam may help but only for not turning on the hot water as hot–you maybe able to help yourself by turning down the temp of your hot water if u have access to your tank.

Another option is to sleep with a fan–for white noise–or keep a fan on all the time.

how long have you lived in the home? I personally found the first few weeks drove me nuts but after a while I got used to it, admittantly some nights were worse than others.

    Good luck
